First post is an "Is this worth it" post, hope that's ok.

Looking at a 2005 S2k with 85k miles on her. Dealer is asking $18k, pretty sure I can weasel them down to $16k. So, worth it at $18k? $17k? $16k?

Hello guys,
Currently looking at a '05 ap2 suzuka blue with about 47k miles on it. The car has a clean title and from what i saw is in pretty good condition. the owner is asking $18400 obo. I really like the car but i'd like some input from the more experienced crowd. Im thinking of offering $17500. Here is a link to the post:
S2k for sale

Also, this may or may not be the right place to ask, if not point me in the right direction. I currently own a 2003 type-s and when i test drove the s2k, it felt like it required a bit more force to go into each gear in comparison to the type-s. I am not sure if i am simply not used to the shifting in this car or what, however there was no grinding or odd sounds from the transmission that i noticed. Anybody here can make a comparison between the feel of type s and s2k shift feel?

Price 24k at the dealer.

Thoughts about price - fair / high / low?
PPI in new Jersey, any recommendations about where to perform?

Really like the car, but price feels a bit high,
Thoughts?

Exterior body panels and top look clean. Do the body panel VIN #s match, maintenance records available, number of owners, and no accidents check out? Would be a pretty solid deal if you can get it for $16K and everything checks out.

Even at $18.4K it is not a terrible deal if the car checks out. Since the ad say "OBO" you need to find out what his actual..."I will sell the car price." is. If you like the car, I wouldn't start nit picking every little fault you might find trying to justify a lower offer. I would tell him you really like the car, but $18.4k is more than you are willing to pay. The owner knows what they want to get out of the car...you just have to find out what that price point is. GLWP!

Paint/interior are each about a 7/10.

Rear quarter has a pretty nasty door ding right around wheel well that will prob cost $500ish to deal with.

Mechanically....perfect.

Rust.....not even a little.
Not a bad deal if everything check out, i.e., VIN#s, maintenance records, number of owners, no accidents, etc. Maybe you could get a little reduction in price to offset the cost of the body repair. Just my .02.

Long time listener, first time caller.

I'm getting more and more serious about diving in, and am interested in thoughts on these two 2006 AP2s, which are relatively close by:

32k miles, red/black, 2 owners, $23k: http://www.avonautobrokers.com/2006-...2/Details.aspx

29k miles, gray/black-red, 2 owners, a few small cosmetic issues here and there (small chips, rim scuff), $24k: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...ngId=645900081

Both appear to have clean carfax. Haven't driven/inspected either yet, but would love input from folks here.

Thanks.

Seems like a good deal. For some perspective. This guy in Phoenix just posted up his black 2007, with 111k and wants 20k firm. Don't think he'll find a buyer anytime soon.

Obviously, you will need to check the standard items, VIN #s match, number of owners, any accidents, maintenance records, etc. From the pictures, both cars seem to be worth looking at since they are close. Never hurts to look at as many cars as you can to get some perspective. The NFR has a roof patch and the drivers side seat booster seems a little worse for wear. Price wise both cars seem like there should be room to negotiate another $1,500+/- off their asking price. Good luck!
