You aren't lowballing. I picked up and '03 with 75k miles last year for $11.5k. It was in "good", not "great" condition and I've spent about $900 since then on PDR, getting the chips touched up, and baselining the fluids.

Fwiw the car seemed to drive straight. Am I low-balling these guys?

Dealer told me they paid 6k for it at salvage auction but who really knows....
You're not lowballing. Thats a shit job. I'd love to see it with the bumper off. I'm sure the bumper is missing multiple fasteners and the rear valance has hundreds of hammer dents in it.

That's what I figured too. I don't think these folks are real serious about selling it. Makes sense though....buy yourself a salvage for peanuts and have your own shop "fix er up" and you got something fun to drive with no investment.

Betting a month from now they are begging me to buy it for 7000.

Dealer out the car up on a lift for me to look at and I can see some repairs to the frame near the impact yet everything else seems relatively unmolested underneath. I offered 8.5k and they didn't bite so I wished them luck and pounded sand.

No way will I pay more than 60% market value on a rebuilt car with frame damage.

i have a 2002 black with all red interior 57k miles 2 owner rebuilt and repaired by me back in late 2011. All vins match and NO frame damage and I would sell for $10k lmk. I have the window sticker as well located in south Florida.

Default Thinking about buying my first S2k

Hey everyone! I've been looking around at different s2k's for some time now and came across one where the dealer was selling a 2003 model for roughly $23-24k with about 123,000 kms on it. My question is, is that a decent price considering the kms on it? I am aware that Hondas have a huge reputation when it comes to how long their vehicles can last. But I just wanted a couple opinions from other ppl who do own and are more knowledgable about this legendary car. Thanks for taking the time to read my question, I look forward to hearing from some of you!

ps. Here's the actual link that I found of the car for further details.

Welcome to S2KI Jorge.

I believe that car has been at the dealership for some time now which will help you negotiate the sale price.

First of all, this is a Canadian model which is a little more rare than most that are for sale. Secondly, this car has a full blue interior which is not something I have seen before as the blue interior is always in a Suzuka blue S2000. May have been a special order, special model or a previous owner painstakingly swapped out the interior. I think you could only get the interior in full red or tan/black in 2003 but not 100% sure.

A 2003 with 120000-130000KMS should be in the high teens to $21K mark if the car is in really great condition with all 10 VIN's present. There are a couple mods done to the car which doesn't really detract from the asking price but unmodified cars are usually worth a little more.

Here are a couple links that will help before heading to the dealership.

Looked to me the seats are black, and there are other black things like door panels and vents on dash. Custom for sure on the GPW car.

I would say keep looking. Those prices are way too high.
