Official Is This Car Worth It Thread vol 3
The 2006+ cars can be FlashPro tuned for surprising mid-range power, something impossible without an aftermarket ECU on earlier cars. Nothing wrong with the wheels (2008 wheels are in high demand, though) and suspension on a 2008 S2000 and replacing them and adding also unnecessary adjustable coil overs will push your expenses close to what an unaltered car with 100,000 less miles will cost with a good roof. My price model puts this car at $12K in detailed, clean condition, all matching numbers, etc.

That does seem like a fair amount of wear for an 08. The paint fade is a little odd and could be costly. A new soft top isn't cheap either. It's not a horrible price for a 08 with a clean title and since I can't see pictures I am probably imagining worse than it actually is. I would maybe offer 10k and see what they say. Also make sure to get it inspected by a trusted mechanic. There is a lot of benefit an 08 offers over older years. You can run flashpro, it has VSA, desirable AP2V3 wheels. 08 and 09 were low production numbers.
Paint fade on an 08? And only on the bumpers? If it spent time outside I feel like it should be faded all over. Or, the bumpers were replaced and they did a crappy job of painting.
I might be in the market soon but that's a huge red flag to me. Check to make sure the VIN numbers match up with the rest of the car. I think there should be 10.

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and interested in having a fun weekend car before having a baby.
So, I saw this post for a 2008 Black S2000 for sale at $13000 at 140k mileage and wonder if it's a good buy.
Seller is open for offers. What's your opinion? What's a good offer considering all the bad? should I find an AP1 for less?
Thank you.

Hi. I have a guy offering to sell me a 2005 Suzuka Blue AP2 with 125k miles on it for $13,400 firm. The car is in great condition inside and out, not perfect but well above average. Is this a good buy? I was thinking maybe $13,000 but I wanted to see what you guys have to say. Thanks
without pictures its hard to say! If you feel its a good deal and you have gone over it mechanically then get it! Don't make rush decisions when buying cars, you get all caught up in the excitement and then maybe over look a glaring issue take ur time and have a pro do a pre purchase inspection!
