Official Is This Car Worth It Thread vol 3
I've seen that listing. Judging by the photos, that car looks super clean and untouched. It seems like a fair price to me (especially considering pricing in this part of the country).
I'm guessing that the real question would be whether or not you could get along with the blue interior. I think blue interiors tend to fall into the love 'em or hate 'em category. For those that tend to like the blue, it's a huge bonus because they are a bit unique. A while back there was a Suzuka Blue listed for sale up in Washington. I believe it was MY06 and it had a black/blue interior which made quite a difference visually. If you are specifically looking for an AP1, this one certainly seems like it would be worth taking a look at. Fortunately, if it turns out that it's not the one for you, there are lots of other really clean examples out there with low mileage (although not likely as low as this car, lol).
By the way, based on what I've read here, that particular dealership employs one of the most respected Honda technicians in the area (who it seems knows the S2000 very well). Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I haven't actually driven an AP1. They have a silver AP2 that me and my wife drove. She didn't like the blue either. I think perhaps if they will let me I should drive an AP1, I think I'd find the 9K more thrilling. Another thing for me to consider other than the interior color is the price. While not a deal breaker given the mileage it's quite a bit more money than I'd ideally be spending, just never thought I'd find one with such few miles. Sadly this car would be my daily driver and while it will be parked in a garage at night during the day it would be parked outside entirely exposed to the elements. I feel like I'd worry even more about that with a car with such low miles. It's kinda like deciding to buy a car or buy the miles on the car. There is another AP1 near-ish to me, private seller silver with 77K but it comes with a factory hardtop which would help me feel a lot better about it being parked out while at work during the rainy months. It's also 9K less expensive. Ack I don't know it seems crazy to not try to buy the suzukatas I've wanted an S2000 since I was a teenager and it's like the closest anyone could come to buying a "brand new" one at this period of time. I'll keep thinking about it but certainly value and will consider the opinions posted here.
Thanks again all.
Thanks again all.
Still thinking everything over. The single picture is a problem yes. I've reached out to the seller who says he will post more photos and information later this week or weekend when he gets some free time. As far as the 2003, all options are still on the table. I'd really need to go drive it and see if they would lower the price at all. It seems unlikely given its mileage but you never know- winter is coming after all.
I also am not a fan of the complete blue interior. Cosmetically, the first thing I will change is the carpet to black. Going down the road, I probably will change the center console and part of the seats to black.
Found this 2008 in craigslist for sale in Houston.
Asking price is $12,000 with 147,000 miles and owner seem to know nothing about the car. First owner drove it for 9 years. Current owner is a son of an used car dealer, is selling it after few months because the seat and cockpit is too small and uncomfortable.
Two owners
Dents around
Torn seat
Torn soft top
Clear coat seem to have faded with paint peeling in front bumper
Carfax shown to have minor accident on front fender, front bumper and rear bumper with no structural damage
https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d...265257353.html
The car seems to be driven daily due to its mileage for a 2008. Is it worth 4 hours drive to view/ buy the car?
A little bit about me. S2000 would be a weekend car. I thought I wanted a supercharged s2000 or AP1 but I find myself prefer the rawness of a NA. I probably won't spend money on modding it. Thanks!
