the stock exhaust is around 50lbs. I dont think the mugen exhaust is 10lbs. There are however many exhausts available that are in the 10-20lb range.
So I got a GoProCamera "Motorsports Hero Wide" for my birthday and did a little testing with it today. To share it, I also had to get with the times and figure out how to upload to youtube.
Anyway, here's my first 15 second video using the suction cup mount on the windshield.

I'm trying to upload an edited version of a rather long test I did with it mounted on the front bumper.

Darn.. I was hoping that there was no drone.
Any performance gain? 1 hp? LOL
I have the same issue as you I.e. AC and stereo, looking to lighten up the load. Thanks for the feedback.

I got it off of Yahoo auctions Japan. It was used but at $400 plus shipping I couldn't turn it down. Came out to around $600ttl
The mugen exhaust does not drone. When cruising, it sounds nearly stock, and when you get on it, it has a very nice tone to it, but never drony (if there is such a word). I don't like exhausts that drone at any rpm, but the Mugen is nearly perfect for an aftermarket exhaust on the s2k.

Maybe it's an age thing but you just can't go to a cannister that's a a little less than half the size of the stock box and is almost twice the mouth size and say it doesn't drone.
I listened to guys saying it has no drone then bought one put it on and BAM .. drone ..LOL It's not terrible and thankfully only drones between about 3000-3600 rpms.
Spr2 - I'm surprised you have drone on yours. Everything I've heard from other Mugen owners says no drone. The only theories I have are a)knock-off/replica or b)older exhaust with all the glasspack burnt out.
the-moss - nice vids. I picked up the same camera but haven't used it yet. How'd you mount it? Yours looks really stable - is it with the suction cup mount? I built a bumper mount a few years ago that is mounted to the front bumper tow hook. That sucker isn't going anywhere!
