Calling all CR owners, who are into Solo 2 (Autocross).
What your best mods to your stock CR to improve your time?
E.g. Stiffer front sway bar?

Need some suggestions on mods to my CR.
Thanks for your inputs.

Other thoughts to improve times:

Co-drivers and datalogs.

What region are you autocrossing in? Corey and Jeff (Janzen) are two National-level A-stock S2000 drivers from Canada.

Here in Calgary, Alberta.
We had SoloPro instructors (Tim Aro, Jinx Jordan and Reijo Silvennoinen) in for the weekend, they were great instructors.
Learn lots and highly recommended.

Reijo rocks. Nicest Fin I've ever met!

He needs to move back down to SoCal to help me with my CR setup

I ordered a new set of the new size of Kumho's 245-40-17's
Won't ship until July though.

In looking at some of my recent race photos. IT looks like, to me, that 275-40's up front, raise the ride height too much IMHO compared to other S2K's runing 245's.

Will be swapping in some 245-40's in the front for my next event.

Not me driving, but my car on 275's all around. Looks too high!

Compared to this AP1 on Revalved Koni's..

Hey Pete! Thanks for the kind words (George too....not Schilling )!

I was at that event too....as you know:
http://public.fotki.com/makofoto/2009-auto...ra/img1841.html

Anyway, I was thinking it was a shame you did not come and ask me about set-up etc.....I'm entirely/perfectly willing to help out!

You going to Packwood? I'm intending on being there....not sure when I'll be back in the LA area tho'....also will be going to Nationals and perhaps see you there.

Interesting that the ride height appears to be so much more.....car looks more level actually since stock S2k's are lower in the front.

Did you find any adverse handling traits with the 275's all around? No rubbing?

By the way, I live only a few minutes away from where George lives here in Calgary.....so I've seen him a few times already this spring since we met.....turns out we have some friends in common - it's a small world.

Reijo

How experienced are you? What characteristics do you want out of the car (loose, stable)? What is your driving style (smooth/aggressive, left foot brake, trail brake)?

There are many ways to set this car up. For starters, I would get some A6s (245/245 or 275/275) get a stiff front sway bar, and a good alignment. Feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions.

Ride with faster S2000 drivers whenever you can. If possible, have Jeff and/or Corey (or some other S2000 driver who is faster) drive your car and you ride. Ask them what they think of the car and the setup.

Mine is getting painted and should finally be ready sometime late next week. I have a picture from the Japanese "build your car" Honda site with the Apex Blue color car and top. I used that to give me an idea what it would look like. I worried it would be a bit too much blue, but I decided it looked good. I'm leaving the moldings unpainted for now and may wrap them in carbon kevlar at some point. This shows the windshield tape removed also.
