Also just wondering does anyone know if this car out handles the 350 Nismo. Haven't driven it yet.
Help me out guys.
Help me out guys.

A big talker in a pimped out 350z was posting daily in our local autocross forum prior to an event. Nice enough guy, but really not a very experienced driver. Then he got creamed by 50 year old housewives driving regular, stock cars. He hasn't posted since.
So, please... no mag racing here. I love that a lot of CR owners bought them for track or autocross. Your RSX may be faster... in a straight line. But interesting when people post horsepower mods and neglect to say anything about their tires....
Buy the CR and come (real, not street) racing! You'll be glad you did!

Hi guys. Went to the dealer today and the MSRP on the Cr was 39.XXX with 77 mles on an 08 Cr black. I ask about the price of the car, to see if I could even be interested. Runs away for a sec. and comes back with the keys for a test drive. Loved the car. (even tho my rsx is faster) it handled was amazing. I went inside and they ran my credit at first and said i needed a cosigner. I found one. They give me an offer for 32800 out the door, I think. Said will drop 1000 more if he has too. What should i do? I want to take it, but do you guys think I could get him lower.

It's natural to compare cars before buying one, isn't it? The fact that he posted here just makes sense as he's more likely to find someone that has driven both here than in most other spots, right?
From everything I have seen and heard in reviews, and having driven both, it's kind of a wash from a performance perspective. The S handles a bit better but the Nismo is a little faster/quicker in a straight line.
The big difference to me is the S is a roadster and the Nismo is not. To me, that's the deciding factor right there... If the 350 or 370 convertible could be had with the NISMO package, then it might be a closer race for me.
Beside that, the Nismo is more $ and Nissan's interiors tend to look a little cheap to me, but that's personal taste.

Well thanks for everyones help. I do autocross my rsx and just wanted a little more imput. Im deciding on the Cr because of the sexy Ferrari like interior and sleekness of the black one at the dealership i am interested in. And when I asked about the two in comparison i did state "Handles" so idk. I just cant get over how cool the Cr is and the how Nismo interior just doesn't feel and look special for the price.
oh and its not 32,800 otd thats the base price there giving it to me. I got them to drop it to 30,900 today but still can a lower payment so ima wait a couple of weeks and get more of a down payment.

Anyone know a solution to the, "oh shit it's raining and the hardtop is at home!" problem besides speeding? My friend says there is a company that makes a detachable emergency canvas top, but I haven't seen it/
I haven't seen anything that would hold up to driving. There are soft covers that you can toss on while parked and I guess you could wait out the storm.
They make those sorts of things for British roadsters, but with less than 1000 CRs... Not sure if there is much of a market. I'd buy one, though.

if you go back through this thread I posted pictures of the cockpit cover on my CR. I use this cover all the time and its great. You cant use it while driving obviously.
every new CR owner should go through this whole thread, some good info in here.
