The Official S2000 CR Owners Thread
^ i think a little extra power to set it aside would've been proper. that would put it in the type-r category.
aside from that, i think with all the problems of the soft top, soft top motor, weight, security, etc. the cr gets it right.

So I was thinking about it, and I know what Honda should have done. Instead of the cr, I would have liked Honda to do what they did with the NSX (in Japan) -> a Type-S and Type-S zero.
The Type-S would be the the Type-S from Japan. The stiffer suspension (not as stiff as the CR), aero, sways, steering, interior but with the soft top.
The Type-S Zero would be the CR delete model but maybe give it some extras like lighter wheels (BBS RGR's like the NSX Type-S had). Maybe find other places to lighten it up like lighter seats, rear glass, manual windows, battery, etc.
I figure they could have sold a lot of Type-S's since many people seem to be turned off by the lack of soft top. And some people wanted the CR to be more Type-R-ish. Just a thought.

Extra power was something I was surprised they left out. I was watching a video with Shigeru Uehara the other night and he said the motor was about as efficient as it could get and that the CR was in the middle between the JDM Type S and what a Type R would have been.
Time for a mini-update. I have accomplished a few things on my not so little project.
The engine bay has gone from this:

To this: Yes, there are now compressors for the AC and for the Engine hidden down there somewhere...

And I've made headway at the other end on the audio system. The systems design is to extract the maximum quality sound with a minimum of added weight.
Mock up of the composite sub/amp cabinet and some dampening:

More to come...

Found a white one but no answer yet
It's the only color that is unique to the CR, so it's the only color that you can immediately identify as a CR no matter what other mods have been done. Besides, I like it a lot, Smurphiness and all... Good luck on your bid for a plain white one.

Have you seen one in person? Because it doesn't look anything like it does in pictures.
Of course GPW with a GPW top would be insane
