I think I saw somewhere that there were 1500 made. not positive on that, perhaps somone else can confirm.

We bought our CR a few days ago and was informed that 1400 were produced. How can I tell what number mine is?

Vin number should be the last three or four numbers

That must mean there's at least 1600 made as my number is 1585.
