Official S2ki GoPro Crew
Since I don't have a GoPro2, I decided I'd just use an external audio recorder (Zoom H4N) that I use for DSLR video in the car and then combine the audio and video in editing. You can see it mounted on my windshield with the fluffy "dead cat" for wind deadening. Next time I'm just gonna stick it in the little net thing we have in the passenger foot well. This is definitely the best way to get good controlled audio but obviously not the most cost effective since a H4N new is around $300. I sync it by clapping three times after starting video and audio recording and I see three audio spikes on both my video and audio file that I just line up. This is definitely the most accurate recording I've made of how my car sounds from inside.
I tried to use it at the track last weekend the same way but the recording was really bad with random booming sounds.
Here's my first GoPro video..I don't own the camera yet, so I borrowed my friend's for a two-day track event I did at Summit Point Circuit Friday and Saturday.

Also, you can get this to attach a gopro to a super clamp, as long as you have a stud with 1/4"-20 threads for the clamp.
