Dario, if you don't believe it open your door and follow the black to the end. Peel back the end where it won't show. Tape.

All but black, yes, and that's a good question sir, the answer lies in aesthesics only (see NSX...it's a Honda thing, go figure), there is no sort of functionality to it. Why exactly they decided to put tape on it instead of painting it is up to some speculation, most probably it was a cost factor for production, but it could just as easily be because they thought it would be nice to give owners a no-cost way to mod the car to US tastes.
