i just checked my oil today...i burned about a half quart in 510 miles (almost to vtec!!!)...i tooped it off with 5w-30. im supposed to fill it to the H mark right? i couldnt find any 5w-40 and didnt want to use 10w-30 because its a bit cold in ny. is 5w-30 ok to use? just wondering help

 

If you're just topping off, then I'd stick with 10w-30.

 

Last week i spoke to my Honda mechanic about the oil (I'm
now at 1700KM). He said he had just received a new
notification about the 2001 Civics needing 0W20 !!!!! oil,
well that's some easyflowing oil. He suspected Honda would
also recommend it for the S2000. He was going to ask
Honda about this. I'm keeping a close eye to the oil usage,
and so far no usage.
