Oil, engine, break-in...
I have 582 miles on my '01 S2K...the oil (when cold) is right at the top X, which actually is more of a "K" - hehe
I have driven at all SORTS of speeds, and RPMs - venturing beyond 5,000 only 4 times...V-Tech 3 times (and Wow!)...it has been on I-95 anywhere from 65-80 MPH, back roads, stop and go, etc...
Now I am 18 miles from the "magic number" and have no problems, the oil looks fine (level), and I will be taking her on a trip next weekend about 120 miles away...any pointers or suggestions to share at this time would be awesome!
Thanks,
Steve

Yes, VTech 3 times...It was suggested to me that the engine needs to break in across all operating conditions, with the VERY lowest percentage of the break-in being under the most stressful - this advice comes from someone who has actually been a Crew Cheif for a Honda pit crew (and verified by a brother-in-law who is a leer jet maintenance supervisor, who also happens to own an S2000)...I was just trying to get as much input as possible from those with actual experience as to what to expect now =)
Don't use cruise control for a while yet. Be sure to constantly check your oil level and add some if it is low. I waited until 1000 miles to hit VTEC-land which is not necessary but I felt the engine needed more time and mileage to break-in, just my opinion. Recommend changing your oil at 3750 miles and then again at 7500 miles, this time with synthetic.
