It happens. 13.7 is totally possible with a bonestock S, and 0-60 in 5.1-5.3 is too.

Also, LS1 Camaros/T-A's run low 13's in the quarter.

5.3s 0-60 is only possible if your like 100lbs and have Tsuchiya skills.

Wrong, and Tsuchiya is a drift/time-attack/touge et al legend, not a drag racing star.

How many gears are you guys shifting to get to 60mph and stay within the red line? This is not a great feat of driving skill nor does it require special talent IMO of course.

Okay, I'm going to answer some questions.

Someone asked to comment on the air conditioning situation. I'm assuming you think I bought the CR without the air conditioner and radio. Actually, I have both. I couldn't daily drive this car without an A/C or music to listen to during long driving periods.

As for me stating the CR is one of the slowest vehicles I've driven, I'm not saying it is the slowest. The car has plenty of power to get a driver in trouble, but I've driven Nissan 350Zs, a Dodge Viper SRT-10, Viper SRT-10 ACR, Lotus Elise SC, and a couple of AMG Benz.
{Note: I said "driven".. Not "owned" Baller status is not mine for the taking)
The slowest car I've probably driven is my fiance's Cobalt LT. I don't even try to speed in that car. I'm just saying that in terms of awesome sports cars I've gotten the pleasure of experiencing, the S2000's straight-line performance isn't spectacular.

Can I ask?..have you driven a non CR S?
I'm still considering the entire CR suspension swap and always looking
for positives and negatives.
My first car was a base S2000. I traded it for my CR.

The CR's suspension doesn't feel too different on daily driving routines. Well, at least it doesn't to me; however, once you take it to a track (something I have yet to do ) or twisty road, it seems like the CR is a different animal.
Put a driver in the CR & an equally talented driver in a regular S, I guarantee the CR will be the overall better car around the track.
The one thing I do miss about the base S2K is the convertible top. I wish Honda had sent the Type-S S2000 to the U.S as another model. That would've been bad ass.
If you do go the route of the CR suspension, it is slightly stiffer than stock, but on my daily drive, it doesn't bother me. I'm not sure if you'll react to it differently.

It's all about the launching the S2k, it's really hard to do right, i can take any car and launch it perfect, but when it comes to the S you have to practice so much and then u have the worries of damaging the diff, forget about it, the average driver will reach 0-60 5.7 - 5.8
