Mods are fine for those that want them, but they aren't necessary. I bought the car because it's fun -- not to make a statement. I don't care if mine looks like everyone else's.

Performance mods? I'd probably <heresy> buy a z06 </heresy> before I spent a bunch of money slapping parts on the S. If that's your hobby, great. But don't let someone tell you it's the only road to happiness.

LOL, it's funny you say that because I'm actually only 21 years old. I went back and read my post and I guess I could see how it made me sound older. I think that's what really gets some of these guys my age that can't afford a car like the S to begin with. They assume that because I am young and watched the import scene explode in my teen years that my car will be tricked out beyond imagination, and when I tell them I do not want to heavily modify it they become irrate. To them this is one of the "flagship" cars of the import scene and to leave it stock, or anything close to it, is a tragedy, LOL.

Thanks for all your opinions though! I figured most of you would say you would have bought one anyway!

The only mod the S2000 needs is a good alignment. It can be completely stock and still be a blast on the street or the track if set up properly. Everything else is just bonus.

The S2000 is great in stock form, modding it enhances and/or personalizes for the owner.

I'm also convinced that the S2000 is quite tweaked enough from the factory that mods won't make that much of a difference.

I've had my fun modding my Prelude and Integra - but now I'm having more fun just driving my S2K in the state its in.

As we get older, our priorities change. Still an enthusiast at heart, though!

When I was younger, I enjoyed modding the piss out of everything I drove. When buying a new car, I always took it's aftermarket support into consideration. But over the years my priorities have changed, my life has changed, and I wanted a car that I could enjoy in stock form or with little modifications. I still get the itch and think a new exhaust would be nice, but I haven't pulled the trigger for any mods yet. I'm still having a blast with my S in stock form.

I'm not against people modding their cars, that's a personal choice and I think people have every right to mod it or keep it stock.

If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely buy an S2000 if I couldn't or wouldn't mod it.
