Keep on fakin' the funk guys. Someone has to match up with the woman that buys fake purses and accessories to boost her perceived social status.

I'll make sure the door doesn't hit me in the ass on my way out of this thread.

My point was that replica is the standard term in use for automobiles and that is how I decided to make my point.

Even if fake, phony, bogus, fraudulent, knockoff, and replica mean the same thing.
Your point is lame - like "replica" parts.

^ This guy...

My feeling on replica parts is one if I'm buying an aero piece like a bumper or something along those lines I don't really care who made it as long as it fits right and does the job. What I think is misunderstood is the person buying that replica piece probably had NO intention of ever buying a "Real" JDM part. Mostly because it is way out of a lot of budgets. So you can't say that someone buying a replica is destroying the industry if that particular person was NEVER going to buy the real thing anyways. Most things I would consider safety items or functional mods I would say is you get what you pay for in MOST cases. There are a few exceptions and with those you do your research, but I choose what I trust and what I see works. So stop the damn debate and buy it if it works for you.

you make a good point that i didn't really think about before... why do all you guys care so much? do what you want to your own car and leave it at that.

Replica parts are for poor people.

so I would rather have nothing than look poor with replicas but replicas are not for poor people.
Some people find it hard paying its original price for them even though they can afford to do so
I only buy authentics. It takes longer to save up
but can't justify buying fake parts for my S

Just because you spent a lot of $$ on a part does not mean it will fit (w/o modification). Nothing fits like OEM.
Best answer.

for me currently i only have 'real' parts on my car but i can see the appeal of replicas.
sure some parts like asm body kits and stuff have massive r&d into them but some 'real' parts are just overpriced bs parts.

I think the only part that I would consider buying a replica of is the front lip, since it's very likely to be destroyed by PA roads. I think replica lips are ok, as long as you're not passing them off as genuine parts.

some parts m cool with replicas some not.

you gotta know which is ok and not. but if I have the money why not get evrythin genuine.

but if you gonna ask me I'm cool with reps and dnt hate them at all.
