our windshields suck

how about polycarbonate, i have no idea what the advantage is except for the weight saving, might not be as fragile as the s2000 windshield? saw it on bulletproof.
I don't think the Honda windshield's any worse than the average. It's just this car sits low on the ground (so does the windshield). A rock that normally would have hit the hood or bumper on an Accord would end up hitting the windshield.
I don't see many Accord owners complaining about their windshields -- or maybe they just didn't notice???

....or did you think I should be starting a new thread when a relevant one already exists that I could simply add to?
Thank you (sincerely),

i remember a while back i was speaking with an M3 owner and he had told me that he had just purchased the car.. after looking at the cracked front windshield, i had asked what happened. his response:
"it was damn cold in the morning, so after i turned the car on, i turned on the defroster and the whole ####ing thing just cracked because of the change of temperature.. stupid piece of junk"

I think the "problem" with the windshield is a combination of the windshield being low and not having a lot of angle to it. Because of that, rocks and debris hit it fairly solidly causing damage rather than glancing off as it would do on a windshield that has a long low angle to it. Of course this is one of the things I really like about the S2k. Many newer convertibles have these long raked windshields that run way up so that they stop nearly over the drivers head....which takes a LOT of the open air feeling away. I much prefer the shorter more vertical windshield we have in our cars and will take that in trade for it being a little more susceptible to damage.
i don't think the windscreen is weaker than other makes and models. i think it'll only be stronger seeing as its a convertible.
its just the way the car is in general. its low to the ground and you're prolly driving faster than you would in a camry and the way the windscreen is angled.
just be thankful that you're replacing a windscreen rather than losing your sight from a stray rock if the windscreen wasnt there
