Thumbs up Performance Questions? Advise Guys!

Hey, Got a quick questions.
I just got my S2K about two months ago. I've been reading all kinds of stuff on here so before you say go read this or that....unless its helpful. I'm just getting to know some of the guys on here so give me a chance. Thanks..
Ok
What would be the best way to start as far as performance with regard to the car. I'm not really a drag racer, every once and while but not often. I'm looking to gain as much power to the wheels as possible until I decide whether to turbo or s.c. my S. So should I start with like header, intake, and exhaust. If so what are the very best brands to go with. I'm not really worried about cost because I always try to buy the best stuff for it. I'm just looking to make as much rwhp as possible before turbo or s.c. cuz I'm not sure which I wanna do. I've seen the lovefab turbo system and the comptech s.c. but I'm just looking for some advise from the guys who've played with theirs and found the most results. I open to all kinds of stuff.
Thanks guys.

I don't know much about adding rwhp but it does seem like a lot of the guys that go SC/turbo go for single exhausts so I would say that would be a starting point. As far as which brand I'm sure you're going to get a lot of opinions but that's a good thing.

On intakes, again you'll probably get a lot of opinions but I think it also depends on how often you drive the car. What I mean is my S, until just a couple months ago was a daily driver in Florida. We get rain and plenty of it but if you're in Washington you get that even more so. With CAIs you have to worry about them sucking up water leading to hydro lock. I have a PRM which is more of a ram air intake vs. a true CAI. On the "true" CAI front I've been in S's with Comptech and AEM. Personally I like my PRMs sound better but that's just an opinion on what I like and I did find the others to be very nice. I would imagine something like the AEMv2 probably has more gains than the PRM but again...I don't honestly know.

What I do know a little something about is detailing. Go Zaino! I have black and you have red. You need to strip that baby down (get the old wax off by washing with some Dawn liquid) and protect her good (clay bar and layers of Zaino). Go to the Zaino site and read up on it. There's plenty of info on this site as well (Wash and Wax Forum). I'd also get a Porter Cable when/if you're ready to step up but doing it by hand is a breeze comparted to traditional carnubas, etc.

Also, get an s2ki membership. It's the best money you will spend on the S. I would definitely going for the Gold Membership because it gets you better discounts on products (see the "marketplace" forum which can have headers, intakes, and exhausts, etc.). Obviously you're a newbie so I know it's all new right now but I would highly recommend becoming a full member.

Best of luck to you and welcome to the club!

Check out www.zainostore.com. They have application steps, kits, etc. It will "gleam red" without a doubt. I think the biggest 2 tips I can give on Zaino is use less than you think and let it dry longer than you think.

The first time I did the "process" I went mega anal and probably took close to 1 week because I would let each layer sort of cure 12-24 hours before putting on the next. It's an amazing transformation though. You won't have to go through that again probably ever so take the time first round. After that it's EASY maintenance trust me. I have guys at the office hooked on it and they drive everything from RX-8s to Mercedes to 350Zs and now one with a 300 SRT-8 that's black. He won't use anything but Zaino nowadays.

We used to have a Site Sponsor list and probably still do somewhere but you can also find good deals from people like hardtopguy.com, Rick's Accessories, kingmotorsports.com, etc. Check out "marketplace" too. See the link/tab at the top right of your screen.
