I know there was a recall for MAP sensors that would cause a hesitation cuz the connection wasnt good. Fix was to put a zip tie around the map sensor so it would not lose its connection. I would make sure the harness is zip tied to the sensor and see if it still does it.

Bought my 2004 ap2 with 26k miles on it today.. Test drove it twice before actually purchasing it, signed all the papers, drove it away and the check engine light comes on.. pull into a gas station turn the car off, turn it on the maintenance required light blinks for a few (check engine light comes on right away) and then goes away. The place I bought it from is one of those buy it as it is dealerships, but I bought the extended warranty on it(not through them though).. Anyways I drove it back and they said to drop it off and their mechanic will look at it, im just hoping he doesn't deactivate the check engine light. The car drives and runs fine, only thing I noticed is it stumbles a bit at idle every once and a while but my gfs 07 tiburon does the same thing. Any idea what could be causing that at only 26k miles? Anyways this is just a rant/wtf do I do thread. Sorry.
Sounds like a similar problem I had with my MY06.

But my problem turned out to be the o2 sensor. It went out twice in two months. But of course I had the factory warranty since I bought mine new. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for that! But definitely something to look in to.

Is that what the code pulled up? Bring it in and get it checked out so you can make use of that extended warranty.

Are you sure the bogging isn't from taking off? If you take off to slowly you might get severe bogging. Also, my car sets off a CEL if I don't turn the gas cap several times after it starts clicking. Good luck.

The most common cause for this issue is somebody putting an aftermarket intake onto the car and putting the vacuum lines back on incorrectly. Could be your car had an aftermarket intake, but when the stock intake was put back the lines got messed up.

Somewhere on this site is a nice diagram on how everything is put together, but I don't know where to find it offhand, sorry.

Oh yea, if that is what the code pulled up, you might want to update your first post. Lots of people here don't read everything like they should and just start giving you useless answers.

I remember seeing on some post how a member had a secondary air system code, and even after confirming the lines were not the issue, the CEL persisted. Turned out to be the actual pump had a cracked housing or something of that sort. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Pretty much there's a hose that goes from the intake tube to the pump, and the second one out of the pump to a metal pipe, and then to the sec. air valve. Maybe this thread can help you with vacuum routing.

I didn't wanna mess with it so I took it back to the people I bought it from and didn't let them know what I had wrong with it, he called me and said the air pump is clogged and ill have it back tomorrow.

Yeah, I don't think a dealership can claim to be a "Buy it like it is" dealership. If the car has a salvaged title, then the CAR is "as is"...otherwise they have to make it right up to a certain point.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
