Default plastic rear window care

I think there should be a sticky out there for anyone who has that plastic rear window. When putting the soft top down be very careful if you push on the window where it's folding wrong. I did it last night and the window cracked instantly like it was made oc clear candy. And i doubt this was a temperature issue since i live in central florida.

careful if you push on the window
This may have been a big mistake. If the window begins to fold wrong (which mine does all the time but I don't worry about it till I put the top down for the last time just before the HD goes on), you lift the top back up a bit and "unfold" it in the proper way before continuing. It may take several "corrections" before you can finally put it all the way down. NEVER push on the window in a way that would make it fold faster or tighter than it normally would.

Also, if the window is not cleaned, polished and protected, UV light will degrade the plastic, making it more brittle. Static Cling tint and an annual cleaning and Plexus treatment will prevent such catastrophies.

Not too cold. However, as already indicated, if the window has been made brittle by UV light and never taken care of to keep it pliable, then pushing on it and forcing an abnormal fold isn't a good idea.
