It varies. Ask Nimesh if the car has done this each of the previous seasons. Your car may have reached the number of "requisite" years.
Also, the old "MAP whack" can sometimes speed things along.

Hi:
The offical start of winter for me is when the s2k stalls the first time. I let it stall, and start it again, then it seems okay.

You can try, but now that it's learned, you cannot duplicate it for the service guy. Besides, putting in a new one may not resolve this "quirk".

Resetting the ECU woudn't unlearn it??

This, I cannot say. I'm not sure how the ECU processes this sort of information.
