Please help me determine if I should do 2nd oil change now?
#1
I've got 5500 miles on my silver/red. I got the oil change at 3500, so my next mileage due is 7000 -- BUT due to frigid winter and salty roads, I haven't driven her much in the past 3 months or so...should I wait until I actually hit the 7k miles, or should I change oil sooner based upon calendar elapsed time since my last one? At this rate, I won't hit 7k until April!

Owners manual says we can go 6 months and 7500 miles! I will change my oil ever 4,000~
So you can probably wait 4-5 months with no problems.

I guess I must be a little cautious. Here in Oz the 1st service at 1000km (600 miles) requires an oil and filter change to get the running in oil out. I have subsequently changed both oil and filter religiously every 5000km (3000 miles).
I think it's a small price to pay for the peace and mind.

I say change it.
Since I only go about 5,000 miles per year, do lots of short haul city driving and rev it a lot I had 3 changes in the first year. I have an oil change card from a local dealer that comes out to under $14 per change.
Norton has some nice open roads and you are close to speedy 495. Hopefully you have some real fun with your car.
