The problem also is that you must keep in mind that seasons are different. During summer you can play hard with your baby, you appreciate it a lot and try to explore the limits and enjoy them on hot roads. But once winter has arrived you must calm down and forget what you get used with during summer.
That's not so easy, fortunatly most of us are very conscious while driving.

I think the S2K is so great to drive because of it's instability. But as is noted in this thread, it can be dangerous. Glad you escaped w/ a minor cut, TedBay. So what can we all do? I'm thinking about my first and only autoX experience so far in the StooK. It was raining, and sure enough I spun out FOUR times in my first two runs. But I think that under such conditions (parking lot, no cops) it's possible to quickly learn the limits and characteristics of our cars. I never spun the last 3 runs, despite running even faster times. So, next time anyone's thinking of autocrossing, but wakes up to rain, I'd recommend still going! It's still tons of fun, and the learning experience might just save your (and someone else's) life someday.

Damn, sorry to hear that Ted. A friend at work said he saw a Stook spun out on caleveras in the hills above Milpitas and I had a premonition it might be one of us. I was hoping I wouldn't see a post like yours, but very relieved to hear there was no permanent damage. Black ice is a killer, and there's no way to predict or protect yourself. Way more dangerous with a cycle, but cars are not immune. Quick recovery, and watch out.
