What this forum shows me is that S2000 basically races every other car out there that thinks that they can drive fast. That gives the police no reason to single me out. I'm not even that young (26).

i was once pulled over by a cop because he thought i was playing with my lights.. making them bounce. He didn't know HIDS makes it look like a straight line.. and the ROAD was bouncy.... what a bunch of crock... he wanted permission to seach the inside for "switches"..... I said no... i want to see your supervisor... he radio it in.. and came out and said the supervisor was not available and he just let me go.... idiots!!!!

I hate these cop bashing threads. You'll get no sympathy from me. I work with many of them and some of them are my friends. Sure, there are some bad apples in every basket but then, look at the roster of S2000 owners. You don't think we got our share of morons? Just wait till you come upon the day when something maliscious or criminal is done against you and you pray the cops are close by.

I see with amazement all the posts here about how, "I was ONLY speeding about 20 over and this dumb cop nailed me with a ticket. OK, guys, what's the best way to beat this thing?" GEEZ LOUISE! Give me a fvcking break. Why should you beat it? Were you right or wrong? You're damn lucky you didn't kill somebody or destroy someone else's property when you were BREAKING THE LAW!
They have a tough job to do. Sometimes they gotta "profile" you. If you look the part, maybe you should get a look back?

ps. I've been tailed by a cop for many miles myself. Didn't bother one bit. I had nothing to hide. In fact, I'm about to tail one back. He's going to calibrate my speedometer for me. Now, that's customer service!

Damn, xviper, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.
Seriously, I have to agree with you. The cops are (mostly) just doing thier jobs. It is not fair to take our your frustration on someone for doing what he is required to do. Yes, there are a few "bad apples" but I believe they are a minority as they are here. I think we may hold a minority opinion here though.

Why don't I believe you? You have either made yourself "known" to your local police force by something stupid/illegal that you have done in the recent past

Sorry, not a white guy here. But I will give you the black guy thing in the southern states. That is definately an issue. You may or may not be justified to have the judgement of cops that you do. I don't know you at all to make that call but I will continue to come to the defense of my cop friends and cops in general. Oh, and I will also slam dunk the "rotten apple cops" too.

Unfortunately, this now makes sense to me. I am not a 20 something black guy. I am a 35 yr old white guy. I do not get singled out or "profiled" like a younger black man would. Obviously this board does not have the stereotypes that exist in society since everyone is just a font. Its just a sad fact that this type of behavior happens in our society.

Not exactly true. The stereotypes on this board are "Young", "Middle Age" , "Stock" and "Modified". Even on this board its hard to get people to "live and let live".

Here in New Jersey racial profiling is a major issue. It has been used by the police forces and it has been rejected by the courts and the governor. Profiling and police harrassment should be of major concern to everyone. Whereas I have a world of respect for our police forces I also think that it is our civil rights that have helped to make this country great. I don't think you have to dislike police to protect civil rights, but I do think that we need to make sure that those who we trust to police society have a high level of respect for civil rights. Most do, some do not.

I believe nastinupe1. I think there is no reason for the harrassment. It is not right.
