You sure it wasn't TIRE cleaner. Maybe you used the cleaner for the tires instead of the rims (not saying you did, just throwing ideas out there ).

<-- uses simple green, soap and water.

I start with full concentrate Simple Green and let it sit for about a minute, works better when wheel is not cold.
Rinse wheel with high pressure.
Use soap and water with a mit to remove what is left and get behind the wheel face.

For polished aluminum and chrome, follow with MAAS.

Nothing real fancy, but it works.

Thanks a lots guys. I got some Blue Magic and it works great for polishing. It all came off.

I use some of this Meguiars rim cleaner, its a foamy spray that I use after cleaning off the dirt.. and i just hose rinse it off. Keeps the rims looking sparkling
