Yes, the OEM top is riveted in. So the replacement will need to be as well. You have to remove almost the entire interior trim pieces also.

Definitely NOT for the faint at heart.

Install labor runs about $600-$800 from what I've seen.

Even if you get the '04 frame/motors/top package.......you'll still need to get the install with the same amount of labor $$, so no savings there.

I am not worried about getting the cage out, but with the frame motors top all in one piece there is no riveting since it is already done. I am thinking that is the one part I could not do myself.

If the S2000 top is like the Miata top, it has to do with the two rear ribs on the top moving out of the way of the glass. The rivet gun will be used to attach an elastic strap between the ribs to pull the last rib closer to the front of the car allowing the top to drop.

All this based on Miata non-glass to glass top replacement. S2k has very similar top mechanisms.

I emailed them also and they said everytying is included as far as parts go. You will probably need the rivet gun though to install it which shouldnt be a big deal.

There is a rain channel at the back of the top, it is riveted through the top, all the way around. Thee are also several rivets at the corners of the top, where the 1st folding section is.

well I am placing the order tonight, so wish me luck.

As far as the labor, I am going to do it all myself. I've gone over the instructions several items, and doesn't seem too bad. probably be even easier once i actually get down to it. it will just be time consuming.

for the plastic to glass conversion, a member here, Clovus (who is an s2000 genius in my eyes for this) has made a guide available to us. He was one of the pioneers to the top swap.

the guide is available at http://www.s2000.org under the mods section.

basically, to make the glass top work, you must remove the plastic piece that the top rests on when closed, remove the plastic top, then the fun begins. You need to drill holes in the 1st two support frames, to link them together with elastic. then you drill holes into the lower rear support bar, to link it with the post (where the top itself attaches to the rear of the car) with two nylon straps.

this will allow the frame to fold correctly without putting too much stress on the glass.

from the directions, it seems very straightforward. you don't even need to drill holes. you could make a loop in the elastic and sew it onto the frame.

hopefully this whole operation will go smoothly. But I will be sure to post pics of the top when i get it, and i will also take pictures during the install to hopefully make things easier for others.
