Cabrioweorld soft top
I bought it a month or two ago, and my dad and I put it on ourselves. It took about 3 weeks from placing the order til arrival. When it arrived it came with tons of bubble wrapping, as well as several peices of paper outlining care, as well as warnings about the warranty. Also in the box was a baggy with two nylon straps, two elastic straps, as well as 40 "speed rivets", and about 6 or 7 regular rivets.
About 2 days later a pamphlet arrived with the instructions on how to modify the frame for installation (assuming you have an 00-01)
I used the instructions as well as the guide at www.s2000.org to help.
As to the difficulty, it wasnt that putting the top on was hard, it was that it was time consuming. Removal of the old taop was the easy part.
Modifying the frame was also pretty easy. A couple of things though: They don't send enough rivets for you to take off the elastic bands, then put them back on, so buy more rivets when you get it (this way you wont be going back and forth to the store) Also, the size they listed for the rivets are wrong, so if you go by the directions, your holes will be too small. Another thing is, the instructions tell you to rivet the rear elastic strap and the nylonstraps (that connect to the rain channel) on the same hole. On one side we did not do this, and on the other side we did. On the Side that was riveted the way the instructions said I have a wrinkle in the fabric, where as the otherside, with the two straps about 3/4 an inch apart, there is none.
Putting the new top on was also fairly simple, but it took alot of wrestling. One problem was with the "speed rivets" that connect the top to the rain channel. These were small and you had to get them just right to make the thing work. Also, they only sent you just enough to get it done, so if you screw one or two of them up (which you most likely will) then you have spots missing rivets. Mine is missing rivets on the two corners of the rear. The holes are not cut out fully on those two corners, and getting the speed rivet through 4 layers right there is damn near impossible. This could also acct for the wrinkle, but not likely, since it is only on one side, and both sides are missing rivets.
The only other part I had problems with were near the door inside the panel, is a small plastic plate that attaches to two screws. The either didnt shape this peice right, or sewed it on backwards, because it was hell getting those pieces on. In fact it took us about an hour to get it right.
After that everythign was smooth sailing. The top is beautiful, holds its color very well from what i can see, repels water excellently, no leaks, and teh rear window even has defroster on it. Probably one of the best mods I have ever done. I would also say it is not worth the money to get it professionally installed, as the job wasn't that hard, just took a full day.
Anyway, i hope that answers any questions you might have. If you need anythign else just let me know and I'll do my best to help you out
