Default Problems i've noticed with my new 05

anyone else share these problems?

1. my tunneau (sp?) on my 05 cover doesn't fit like the cover did on my 00. both were the OEM cover that comes with the car. the cover for my 00 snapped right on and the cover for the 05 takes some serious effort to get the holes to line up. it literally takes two people to force the top to line up.

2. the paint is flaking off where my rear bumper meets the metal on the passenger side. the bumper has never been off but it would appear it isn't mounted correctly and it rubs together causing the paint to flake.

3. that noise that tells you that you left your keys in the ignition continues after i take the keys out. it has happened a couple times when i am getting out of the car and it won't let me lock the doors with the remote until i put the keys back in and take them out again.

i had an 00 before and never had any problems...any comments are welcome.

Other people have also reported issues with the paint flaking at the rear where it meets the bumper. You should definitely take it up with Honda. You may wish to do a search on this site. Honda will probably try to deny it, but if you can produce additional cases, they'll probably agree to a repaint.
I have an 05 that just turned 2400 miles and have not yet attempted to put on the tonneau. I doubt I ever will.

I have the same problem as your 1 & 2. My rear bumper on the passenger side does not fit. There is a big gap where the bumper sticks out. I had the dealer adjusted it but it's still not perfect compared to the other side. I am really disappointed with Honda's quality control.

Have the same with all three items. The good news is that the cover gets easier with time. Mine goes right on now. As for the other two items there is no good news.

Haha. Well I'm happy that I'm not the only one having problems with this. I've had the car since Saturday night and I still haven't been able to get that thing on. I tried once with two people (the first time I tried) and was unsuccessful. Tried a few more times by myself and I still can't get it on.

The key thing seems to be like a common thing on all years. I haven't experienced it yet though.

Funny, we never had the key thing with any of our earlier cars, but I have on my 2005. As for the tonneau cover.... still in the bag, and my bumper is OK.

Don't plan on using the cover and have none of the other issues with my 05.
