Problems with my 05? Let's see, ... not enough time to drive it and sometimes I'd like a 7th gear.

my car does the key thing too! My dealership refuses to fix it even after they saw that it happens. They "lubed" it up and said that it was fixed, but it still does it. Maybe I'll print out this topic and shove it down the service managers throat!

ps: on a side note, my own personal problems consist of that plus my soft top makes a popping sound occasionally and my seatbelt makes the most annoying rubbing sound in the world.....almost seriously thinking about sellin the car bc of it.....F'in dealer wont fix my problems bc they "have not experienced" the problem when it was in service BOTH TIMES [/rant]

An occasional "popping" is normal, especially if going over a speed bump or driveway at an angle and causing the body to flex a bit.

The seat belt "squeak is common, and there's an easy fix for it. Search this site for solutions that involve a small strip of fabric under the belt guides on the seats.

There's no excuse for the key problem being normal. It causes the chime to go off unnecessarily, and also prevents the car from being locked with the keyless entry. It also will cause the headlight "on" warning buzzer not to sound if the headlights are left on.

Thanks for sharing the information. I suffer from #3. I even bought a new battery for the remote thinking that was the issue whenI couldn't unlock things with the remote.

I'll try fixing user error, and be more deliberate turning off the car, and pulliing the key out of the ignition.

I have a few extra keys, so I want to avoid replacing the locks/ignition.

They don't need to replace the whole thing. They just replaced the cylinder on mine and had it keyed to my existing keys.

anyone else share these problems?

2. the paint is flaking off where my rear bumper meets the metal on the passenger side. the bumper has never been off but it would appear it isn't mounted correctly and it rubs together causing the paint to flake.

Got a pic of the flaking problem?
