Default Problems with the rubber seals around both doors?

Are these rubber seals supposed to be loose around both doors. They are still attached but very loose. I'm trying to figure out if they are loose or are they supposed to be tight to prevent water from getting in. I always have to dry the door sills after washing my car. Anyone have any opinions. By the way, my car is an 02' . If they shouldn't be loose, it's kinda early for them to come loose.

I'm at work and can't check the seals, but I've always had to dry off the door sills after washing. I think it's normal.

ok, I gather that most door sills are wet after washing but are your seals loosely secured around your door. The one on my trunk is snug and tight.

They attach differently. Around the trunk the seal grasps the edge of the metal the whole way around. As for the door seals and the seal at the back of the engine, they use other techniques to attach at certain length intervals, for instance plastic pegs. Take a closer look, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks destiny2002, I'll take a closer look. I believe what you say cuz it is consistent all the way around on both doors, but I thought maybe with the Texas heat or something that they came loose.

WHen I roll my window down at a drive through when it's raining, water drips into my car. Where the roof meets the windshield. I know it didn't always do this.

Does yours?

No drive-thrus for me. I bet you go just to see them gawk at your car

But I could see water dripping from here. our cars don't have rain gutters to channel the rain away.

I don't know about that one Incubus. I have a pick up truck for ugly weather. But when I am caught in the rain in my S, I haven't noticed the drips. Maybe cause I don't lower the window much. You'd think the seam on the ragtop would keep water out but Destiny is right. It doesn't have gutters.

Actually, I'm impressed with the way the top keeps the water out. I hope it stays that way when the car is a few years old. I've been caught in driving rain and no leakage.

Wet door sills are ok and normal. The interior compartment is water tight unless you let in the rain.

Now my MG's another story. With the top up, side curtains in (side windows), and every thing as tight as can be, you only need a few towels. One for you leg near the side curtains, one to wipe the inside of the front windshield from water splashing up, and one for occassionally wiping your leg from water that's worked it's way down through the dash, and of course one for anyone crazy enough to be with you in an MG in the rain!
