proper way to close the hood

If you have a CF hood you press it.

If you have an OEM hood and a Mugen/J's Racing/ASM intake then you also push it.

If your all OEM then you drop the hood about 1-2 feet above the latch.

Hey, you post on the Roadfly E39 site don't you? I think I recognise your cars. I have an S2000 and 540i as well (also a Lexus RX300).

The proper method is to put it down gently and then beat it down with a hammer. If it doesn't go down right away, get a bigger hammer. Make sure you put down a soft cloth on the hood so you don't do any damage though.

at first i slowly. later i find out it's much easier that you just drop it.

You can adjust the hood latch and the rubber mounts so that you don't have to drop it from so high.
