No, no, no! to the RX-7!!!!! it's a wild car, but will suck your wallet dry. the S has reliability. get one used, but have it checked out big time, especially thorough engine check for over-revs.
BTW, took me 20 years to make 10 grand a month.......

I'm 18 and make about $3500~ a month / $42,000~ yr and the car payment is $681/mo w/ a $2000 down payment. But I payed $39.9 for it, owed $10,000 on my G35

Seriously though, asking about someone's income isn't going to help you any. There are so many things to consider like personal spending habits, whether you pay rent/mortgage, etc.

My advice to you is to figure out what your monthly payment would be first. Then set that amount aside plus some extra $ to account for the increase in insurance and gas. See if you can get by comfortably by setting that money aside for a few months, preferably at least 3. If you find yourself unable to, you know the answer. If you're barely making it or struggling, you should consider how bad you want this car. Buying a car is the biggest purchase next to your house. Don't rush into it unless you have financially prepared yourself.
