lol, no, dont remember, but remember being in your shoes, i really did want to give up. hopefully someone will post the 'how to' for the spring.

I actually took some pliers and bent the sring more then it should normally go back so it releived some of its tension and then I could slide it in and get both the pins in and after a few hours the spring is back to the way it was and the door opens with just pushing it, you don't have to pull it down.

how did you get on with the spring? i am thinking of doing this but sounds like a pain in the back side!

thanks for the link, although it has no mention of the difficulties other members had when removing the cover? ie spring and pins?:S different model maybe mines a ap1 2002

the pins didn't like coming out of mine, but i didn't really have that much trouble keeping the spring in place...patience, young skywalker
