Rain again, again.
I think it's been raining every day here in Tampa for the last few weeks. Today and the next few days are looking really bad:
The Watch Is In Effect Until 500 AM EDT Thursday Morning.
Abundant Tropical Will Move North Into Florida From The Western Caribbean Producing Numerous Showers And Thunderstorms With Periods Of Heavy Rainfall Across West Central And Southwest Florida. Later In The Week A Weak Cold Front Will Drop Into North Florida And Become Stationary. This Combined With Already Saturated Ground And Flooded Rivers And Lakes Has Led To The Issuance Of This Flood Watch.
Rainfall:
Over The Next 2 Days The Area Could Potentially See As Much As 3 To 5 Inches Of Rain With Locally Higher Amounts. This Amount Could Vary Depending On Development Of This Tropical Moisture.

Ah, the old "stationary front". Right now it is "stationary" over Cleveland and has been for the past 2 days and is supposed to be here until Friday.
. Any trained meteorologists in the group? What I'd like to know is this. Doesn't this defy the laws of physics? I mean...as long as the earth spins and the jet stream moves, shouldn't fronts move along, thank you very much? How can they "STALL"? I HATE
that word...STALL. And why do fronts move merrily along the country until they get to the Great Pits...I mean Great Lakes...and then they STALL??? Why?

I don't know about the Great Lakes, but the state of Maryland sends up some kind of front container (I'm sure it's on purpose) to make sure it rains or snows forever!
Maybe it's to keep people from leaving.

Tuesday 9/2 @10AM... Sunny and clear, 68*F going up to nearly 80. It's supposed to be like this through Friday (yeah, RIGHT!!!
) so hopefully ya'll east of the Windy City will get a break in a day or so.
The last two days were absolutely crap, and a couple of hours to the west and north of us it was sunny and warm.
Go figure.
Back to work, at least it's a short week.
