The real picture
The S2000 is not a high theft vehicle. The MY09 only had 357 cars produced of which 2 were stolen so yes when you do the math it looks like a high theft rate (2 cars stolen divided by 357 produced times a 1000 theoretical vehicles on the road equals 5.6). If you add up all of the model years produced and all of the thefts of each model year as a total it works out to about 2 of 1000 S2K's (of all model years) are stolen which is far below most other cars. Im no mathlete so please interject if Im missing something here.
Two years ago I was robbed at gunpoint and tied up in my own home. They took my keys and tried stealing the S but honest to God, they guy came back in after 10 minutes and said he couldn't figure out how to start the damn thing. So they left it. Lucky for the Start button sometimes I guess...
