rear window rattle
Hi everyone. I'm glad to be back on the forum. I drove a Berlina Black 2005 for about 4 years but sold it last year as part of a trade. Just came home with an even prettier Laguna Blue 2006 with 40K miles to use as my second care to keep miles off my Blue F-Type. (Everyone should own 2 impractical two seater convertibles in their alma maters color as their primary transportation right
) I thought about any and all other cars for this purpose but could never get the S2000's manual box, cornering and Vtec thrill out of my head. Plus the fact the other one held its value unbelievably well.
my issue is I test drove the new one exclusively with the top down as should be done. Yesterday I drove with the top up for the first time and the glass window on the back has stretched the top to the point it rattles on the back roll bar on the passenger's side when going over even moderately rough road. I have a full 3 year warrantee from the Honda dealership on the car and will take it in next week but would appreciate anybody's input on solutions. Will it require a new top altogether? can they tighten it up or should I hold firm and make them replace it?

Mine does that, which I always attributed to the aftermarket Robbins top that a PO fitted. I assummed it was just slightly differently configured than oem and this was the result. Perhaps that is not an accurate assumption however. My top doesn't seem sagged out or anything.
I went to Home Despot and bought some wide foam weather stripping, black, that I planned to afix to the window frame to pad the window from banging the rollbar, but even though its my dd, since I rarely drive top up I haven't gotten around to it.
I'm looking forward to other responses to this thread to find out if its really a problem, and if there are other, better ideas for solution.
