You got a small key tag with your car. I believe thats what has your imobellizer info on it.

As far as my understanding goes, all you need is that + your keys and the dealer should be able to re-program them for you. I don't think you need the car to do that. The code is on the little tag ...

This is of course if nothing is wrong with your ECU.

Don't put the red key, it erases memory, i am sure it is from your lude since the s2k didn't have one.

Since none of your keys work, it is likely that the 'immobilizer receiver unit'(ignition lock) part on the car requires replacement. This is something that sends the ECU a signal from the key. Helms repair manual says that reprogramming is not required to replace this part, unless the ECM was also replaced.

Service manual says that if it is necessary to rewrite the ECM, the dealer will require the vehicle along with all the keys.

I had the red key with my '99 Prelude also, but not with the S2000. I suspect you tucked the red key away for safekeeping and forgot about it!

DO NOT PUT THE RED KEY IN THE IGNITION!!!!!!!! That key did NOT come with your stook, it came with your prelude. Only the dealer should ever put that key in the ignition, and only if they know what they are doing (which apparantly they do not so don't let em touch it!). That key is to reconfigure the Immobilizer circut on your old car, it will freak the new circut.

Do Not use the Red Key. It is not for your car and will not help. There are two types of immobilizer systems, the original was in the Acura RL and Prelude and these used the red programing key. This was used to WIPE OUT ALL the codes in the system. The dealer would then plug in their computer and one-by-one "teach" the car the new codes.

The newer type in the Accord, Integra, TL, CL, and S2000 does not need the programing key to reset the computer. The tech plugs in the computer and this "resets" the system and allows the addition of extra keys.

Hope this helps,

The manual talks about the immobilizer keys. I remember it saying something about how having other immobilizer keys near it or other electronic gadgets on the same key chain can screw them up.
