you should have known as soon as you drove off the lot if the wheels were put on incorrectly.. Also, aren't the hub bores different sizes, thus the front wont fit on the rear or vice versa..??

and like others have said, no shop touches my car unless i'm there to watch them..
The front will fit on the rear. In the owners manual it states that if your rear tire is flat and you are using the spare tire, then you have to take your front tire and place it in the rear and use the spare (smaller tire) in the front.

^ This is true, however, the rears will not fit on the front.

I have been in similar situations, where a "tech" f'ed up something on my car. Nothing annoys me more than when some one makes a completely avoidable mistake. It can be ok if they take measures to fix it, but if they deny it...

Do what every it takes to get back at them.

Also, maybe the guy just thought he was rotating your tires, but if that was not documented on your bill, then that would just give you more evidence in your favor.

Good luck. I would like to know how this turns out.

I never take my car to a Honda "specialist", they have fail written all over them.

Honda Specialist and screw up that bad? You need to look for some other shop. Glad nothing broke off while driving home. Always check your car prior to driving off after any repairs. I do it all the time to check for damage on the car and that way I can complain about their carelessness and lack of attention to detail.

There is an important lesson highlighted in this thread. Anytime you have maintenance which involves touching the tires, you need to squat down and look at all four visually. In addition to being sure that the front/rear assignment is correct, check also the rotational direction arrows to be sure tires are mounted on the correct side. It just takes a few seconds, and your safety and security are on the line.
