Took them back to the accessories place today.

They were happy to give me a refund or try something else. I went all out and tried some PIAA's. They are marked as 55->80 which I believe means they replace 55w, but give the same light as 80W. They were $99 (the Jorean jobbies were $21)

It was still nothing to write home about, but it is a beautiful clear sunny day today so it's a little hard to tell. Truth be known, I just felt like a drive.

I'llcheck them out tonight. The guyts at MyCar said I could have my money back if I wasn't satisfied. Nice guys.

Ok, so maybe I've got too much time on mys hands since I gave up sleeping.

I set up the following rig in my S so I could mount my digital camera.

I then took a photo with just the low beam HIDs

Pretty aren't they!

I took a photo with PIAA bulbs in both high beams

I then took a photo with a PIAA bulb in the left light and the standard in the right.

As you can see there is a difference (although for the money it isn't a lot).

Just to get tricky I overlayed on image on the other and used the Difference mode in Photoshop. What this does is show any areas that are different as a lighter colour. I then adjusted the Levels so it was more obvious.

Like I said, way too much time on my hands. You wait till I install my new horn and compare the waveforms!
