is there any info on where you go in these steps to:

completely remove soft top and motors for their deletion
remove the OEM seatbelts (I have aftermarket harnesses now)
re install the rear tray to have a nice shelf inside

These are my goals and I ask since I'm getting a hardtop soon.

You'll need to go through the steps to the roll hoop removal to get to the seatbelts. When you take the side panels from the door jambs, you'll see a metal plate that covers the motors of the top. You can remove this plate from the body to expose the motors and their mounts. I'm not sure if the entire top with frame has to be removed to remove the motors or not. If so, you'll have to follow the directions for inner trim removal and removing the rear rain rail brackets.

I have an OEM AP2 roof to put onto a MY99 AP1. Obviously need the new elastic (Where can I buy this from?). Also what other bits do I need?
This roof was just taken off a wrecked AP2 and sold as is.

Also I am reading conflicting information, can I reuse the orginal AP1 frame?

Thanks.

You can make the elastic straps very easily. Go to your local fabric store and get " heavy stretch" 1 1/2" elastic. Cut two 11 1-2" strips, fold the ends back 1" and stich it. Using your metal retainers as a template, heat a welding rod and burn holes through the doubled back part for the rivets. I bought 2 yards of elastic so I could practice first. Grand total, $3.18.

Don't forget to install so that the elastic doubles back over the retainer and rivets just like the factory did, otherwise the straps will be too long. Besides, it looks better and keeps an elastic layer between your new top and the metal brackets & rivets.
