New stuff is always advancing. Old stuff (like what we own) doesn't advance. Love the car for why you bought it and if it really does get under your skin that your car is no longer as exclusive or "baller" status, upgrade. I agree that Honda needs to either update or do away with the S2000 to keep ahead of the curve, but unless you're in the market for an 06, it doesn't really matter.

Is it just me or does anyone else realize that the owners of the NSX have probably had the same complaint regarding the S and their cars. Not a big HP difference and a HUGE price difference.

They say "It' freakin' S2000 for goodness sake."

Yeah, 8k rpm is a little annoying, but its trickle down technology. We still have a convertible top, rwd, more hp, and lighter cars, so better performance and still the mystique of low prod numbers.

With a new v10 NSX reportedly in the works for 2010, there will probably be an S replacement around 2012 or so. Until then, we'll have to share the S's now 5-yr old tech with a new Civic.

I think you all are forgetting that the 200hp 8k redline engine has been around for a long time. Its just the K20A that is in the Acura RSX-S. I am not surprised that it has finally made it to the Si, its five years old already. Also, the current Si has the base RSX K20B (?).

I bought my S2000 after having a 2003 Civic Si for a few years. I do not think we need to worry about the Si being too close to a S2000. Engines are totally different, no comparison in power, and do not forget about suspension! I'll take double wishbone up front any day over Macphersion struts.
And, the build quality is also no comparison.

Wow. In case you guys had forgotten, the old SI (99,00) had an 8100rpm redline.

not a bad car for the winter time. FWD = RWD =

I have a 2002 with the k20a and 6spd transplant from a RSX-S and it's nothing compared to the S.
