I find that hard to believe. Not saying you aren't telling the truth but I don't see how they can get to those numbers. If sticker is 34,050.00 and 3% holdback is what the dealer gets (according to Edmunds). Then dealer holdback is 1021.50. If "dealer invoice" is according to Edmunds, truly 30,633.00 (probably), then the dealer should stop making any money at 29611.50. If these numbers are accurate, then there must be some other money coming to the dealer because I doubt that anyone would sell a car at a loss during prime convertible selling season. I just can't see it. There would have to be some other factory incentives.
got my 05 brandnew $400 less than invoice after showing dealer my best offer from other dealers. Definitely possible to get a very good deal!

I'm pretty sure you have to finance through them, have certain credit scores, and qualify for some other criterias. Or maybe they're trying the clear the lot- it has nothing to do with the "S" losing its value.

Not to be mean but have you been living under a rock for the last several years? For years now a price of 29,500 has been considered the norm. Picked up my 05 last year with almost 0 miles for that price. 4 others on the lot at the same price and 6-7 others in town on other lots for the same price. This may vary a little from time to time, but in San Antonio we have a very healthy convertible market as you can use this function 12 months a year.

I also find 29,350 hard to believe. Allay our disbelief and post a copy of the bill of sale

I don't know that I believe the 29,350 as the MSRP of the S has gone up, but it seems like the OP hasn't been watching the price of the car for the last several years. I bought my first S in 2002 (used) but new ones on the lot were going for 29,500 to 29,900.

There was a price increase between 2005 and 2006. Be careful about comparing the two without factoring that in.

I paid 30,450 (less sales tax and tag transfer) for my 06 in feb. Could possibly have pushed for 30k even but I liked the sales guy and figure he's got to make a living.

actually sales figures from 2006 have shown no dropoff.. I also don't think anyone has been paying msrp at most dealers since 2001 The final price of my S2K w/ options in December 99 was $38,000 on the nose
Yeah my car was 38,500 dollars with OEM rear spoiler and wind deflector included. The guy bought a red AND black one because he couldn't decide which one he liked better
