True Steven, it does not have anti-theft - nor does the European radio as far as I can tell. Lets face it most of the rest of the world is a little more honest than our friends from across the pond.

My 2002 UK spec is supposed to have a mini-disc player incorporated. Any thoughts / pics?

Is there a reason that there's a CD/Tape button on this faceplate? I can understand a Tape/CD for a tape deck with external CD Changer, but the 2002 is a CD-only unit, right?

2kTurkey: I was curious of what they gave the aussies. Now can someone chime in with a JDM version? they always get the best (ie navigation)

As for the tape thing that kinda threw me too. But look at pic from one of our sponsors :

handa-accessories.com - Accord radio photo

Doesn't that look familar? Same radio! So you bargin hunters, pop over to the accord people dumping their radios for aftermarket ones. The wiring is the same so it would drop in. Remember they have a steering wheel controller too so that would interface with the dash controls as well.

Lucid, did you also get the 2002 speakers to test. I wondered how they pass power to the tweeter. Do they use a simple in-line capacitor, an external crossover, or is the crossover in the head unit? If it's in the head unit, could this have a negative impact on aftermarket component speakers?

simple inline. Remember they use the cheapest speakers they can get away with. Setup is much like an accord 6 speaker.

Damn, the UK people get ripped off. They don't even get the CD. I didn't even know the S2K stereo was made with a tape player.

Lucid,

If you have a chance, can you take a close up of the '02 tweeter out of the housing? I just ordered an '02 and am starting to think about audio upgrades. If you have to take the door apart, don't bother only if its convenient.

Thanks
