the s2000 was def ahead when it was released in terms of technology and what not. even today, it still looks modern and people even think my car is only a few years old(i have a MY00)

old "skool" includes original ae86, civics up to 1990, REAR drive corolla's, early supra's...think, carburetors and no airbags.

The s2000 is timeless in design, but not yet old skool cool. the honda s600 and s800 are old skool.

i find really no new hondas have that traditional honda feel (you guys know what i mean eh)and older hondas seem bullet proof. Example.. i just bought my TSX and 2 weeks later my airbag light goes on, im like; what the heck is this crap. My teg i had for almost 4 years and not a single problem and sooo maintainance free, no stupid airbag light on.

Ive owned 26 Honda cars ,Civics,Accords,Integras, Preludes,Pilot,Crx and of course the S2000. I agree there is not one Honda sold today I'd buy to replace my current line up which is an ...05 Pilot, 05 tl and 03 s2000 ...my friend bought a new Kia sedan something ... it cost almost as much money as all my cars combined ...bought the Pilot for 12k ...with 54 thosand miles on it "a steal", bought my TL for 19k with 11,200 thousand miles on it another "steal"... and bought my S ...my second one btw for 14k it had 27,100 thousand miles on it ...Point is ..never buy new cars ...unless you like having one car for the price of three.
My S will be mine forever because, there will never be another car built like it again ... mine will never be sold ...what would I replace it with ?? ... the only car that can replace an S2k is another s2k ...long live the one ,the only the amazing S2k !!!

I think it's in that in between phase...not quite old school in regards to the standard definition and not quite new school in regards to technology and appearance. Either way doesn't bother me...it's going to the grave with me

14 years old, no traction control, and the most complex amenity is a 6-disk cd changer located in the trunk...

The S2000 definitely doesn't feel new, especially if you've got the plastic window. but it definitely feels good!

@ ~+$30K, if the S2000 was released today would probably have at least smart keyless entry, more airbags, updated gauge cluster (electro-luminescent), bluetooth, and VSA for all cars not just 06+ AP2's.

The engine tech would be upgraded as well. Direct-injection, better MPG, etc.

That being said, it still feels much better than getting into A LOT of other cars that debuted in the early 2000's. Some cars clearly age much better than others.

mine has a cable on the throttle body, so it is definitely old school, but I like it that way.

I don't think of it either way. It's in its own class.
