First let me admit that I'm a very anal person. From those on here he know me, you will agree.

I've never had this happen before on any vehicle, but I'm noticing some chips on my 2002 OEM wheels on the inner spokes. I'm in the Northeast, but I don't drive the car in the winter and it's garage kept.

Can you guys look at your wheels closely and see if you have any of these chips on your inner spokes - the area where the dust usually collects.

The dealer will probably give me a new set, but I don't want them if this is going to happen again, I'll just keep the ones I have. If my case seems pretty isolated, then I will try to get new ones under warranty.

Every wheel has these CHIPS. I just snapped these pics and these are the nicer looking spots:

Comments, advice from you picky S2000 owners?

I am very picky too. I wipe my dash and the whole interior of my car with california duster every 2-3 days and I wash and vacuum my car weekly, rain or shine. BUT, this chips on the wheels dont bother me. It's not even a pretty wheel to begin with! I'll look at my wheels afterwork and see if I got those chips too.

Major props to you if you can convince your local dealer to replace your wheels. Either you have bucketloads of charisma or you've found The Best Damn Honda Dealer Period

Well, Bobby Rahal Honda has the best rep around here for any dealer. They go out of their way.

The pics I just snapped are some of the not-so-bad looking spots. Other spots are much worse. I just need to know if this happens to these wheels, or if this is uncommon. I'm not going to get them if I hear this is normal.

I have a 2002 with OEM wheels, I live in the NorthEast and my car is garage kept as well. 12,000 miles, no chips. This includes several AutoX's and track events

I don't see how you can avoid chipping your wheels.. they are moving at quite high RPM's and are right next to the road surface where any rock will be able to hit them that are thrown up near them..

i had them on my 01 wheels as well. Plus mine were very stained with some black stuff that did not come off ( i did drive her a few times last winter)

I went to my local dealership and after about two weeks of explaining that the UK guys had the same problem and the wheels should not pit in 25K milese- they took them back and re-finsihed the wheels. the newly re-finished rims look GREAT and the clear coat seems much thicker - BUT the dealer was quick to explain that these were re-done under GOODWILL meaning one time only
