My Wheels are the same as yours Jason. Basically I think our stock wheels are a lost cause and I just try to keep them looking as clean as I can, but I try not to spend much time on them.

I have 10,500 miles on my MY2002. I have one chip on my left rear wheel (inner spokes like your pic) where it looks like a rock got in there somehow during driving. Other than that, the other wheels are clean. My car is a daily driver.

Your wheels look pretty bad.

Mine have pitted as well but I dont like the chances of getting a claim esp since Im out of warranty.

Check these threads out and also do a search on the UK forum. They seemed to have got warranty on theirs.

Are you 100% sure they are chips? Have you tried to claybar your rims? I have something similar and mine always claybar out...

Yes already clayed, and they are CHIPS that you can feel with your finger nail.

I just cleaned my wheels earlier, and couldn't find any chips on any wheels.

Hey Austblue,

Us S2ker's in Australia and the UK get different rims.

Up until 2002 ours were painted a dull grey colour, after that we got the same rims as the US. i.e. Shiny machined finish.

I believe for unexplained reasons that the painted rims were more susceptible to corrosion than the machined finish ones.

Also the US spec and later Aus spec rims are a slightly different shape to the early Aus and UK rims.
