Sorry guys, the 3M material won't stick inside the wheel areas, its not a smooth enough surface, the chrome part maybe. I will try tomorrow on a small section with some scrap material but I'm not holding out much hope on this one( I'd love to be able to make those pieces for sure). My wheels are pitted in those areas too.

I have chips on mine too. I used to be anal about everything with my car. Chips on the nose, chips on the wheels, pitted windshield. " My hard earned money is being destroyed" is what I used to say. Now I just drive the hell out of it and don't worry about the little stuff. The more you worry, the more will happen, the more you'll stress! Enjoy your car, that's why you bought it

Ok, the 3M Scothcal DID stick inside the wheels, not very well and would probably come off the next time the car gets washed, but it did stick. I checked and I have plenty of chips in the wheel, even on the bottom section. It would be tricky to do all in one piece. Figure about $20 per wheel for material with NO guarantee that would stay stuck. Probably not worth bothering with for most of us, but if enough people want them, I will get them patterned.

For the past 6 months I put some test pieces on the spokes with clear lexan. They did NOT come off and still look in great shape. The lexan isn't marred and doesn't have any marks from stones.

I'm going to make a template up and have a bunch cut out and put them on the leading edges on all my rims after my dealer replaces my current ones.

Wouldn't anyone be interested if I sold them for a cheap price? I wouldn't mind helping out some fellow owners that are as anal as I am....

I don't have any chip on mine but it's only been driven for less then 5k miles.

This only really happens to people in the northeast with stones/cinders from the winter or months before the street cleaners clear all the debris up.

Pics on the first page of the thread of what will happen.
