these threads are a disease!!!! but I would say that the 04 was redone not refreshed, for the reason they made it AP2 instead of AP1, they did alot of stuff to the new s2k, alot more than the normal refresher, Honda just didn't want to ruin the great looks it has been so successful with.

 

Well, here's the monthly US sales numbers for the S2000. There definitely wasn't any noticeable jump with the AP2. And reading through s2ki there's definitely some divided opinion on the desirability of the AP2's new drivetrain. So will Honda try something different?

Wow! actual data. Much better than responses to the effect that honda is only selling what they want to, and will sell every s2000 they build easily. That data is about what you'd expect though... sales slow down as the car ages. With the competition out there and limited appeal of the s2000, I'd think they need some pretty huge changes to get back to year one sales rates.

 

If it was redone for 2004, then S2000 would've been a candidate for the 2004 Motor Trend COTY award.

 

What if there wasn't a 2006 model? Then this topic would be useless

 

I'm just wondering if the rumored outside temperature gauge rumored for '06 will make this car 3rd generation in some people's eyes here...

 

No more than the leather wrapped shift knob made the '02-'03 cars a new generation, or a clock on the radio...
