BTW, i really appreciate all of the input you've been giving me gbaker.

I figured out how to get the canvas liner to work, so i had a long visit with the seamstress today. We were working out the last bit of refining in both designs. We played around with some vinyl fabric, and you're right. It is a bit stiffer than the canvas, and it won't wear in much either. Plus, i just don't like it. I have also dealt with the foam backed fabric, and it's just plain cheap looking/feeling.

I can get the canvas in any color you want. I was playing around with a nice off-white today, but i like the idea of gray better. I will have to special order the canvas for each liner, because i can't afford to buy it in bulk. The cheapest smallest roll, 30 yards, is $700-$1000. :suprised: This means it will be a bit more expensive (craft store price), but it also means i can get you basically any color you want in most shades. The same goes for vinyl and thread choices.

You could get a gray one in vinyl or canvas, so it comes down to your personal preferences on the fabric. You could just choose a your own canvas or vinyl and send it to me (it takes 2 yards). I would actually recommend that to make sure you get exactly what you want. I think it would be hard to match a person's expectations when it came to custom colors/patterns.

I don't think the microfiber would hold up to the sun beating down on it either. Maybe there is a soft material used on lawn furniture that could be a good substitute. It just depends on the stiffness of the fabric.

Canvas sound very good to me plus it may very well hold up over the long term.

I (and I hope I speak for others at S2K too) really appreciate all the effort you are putting in to the liner. Those who have not built things like a rather sophisticated part, don't realize the level of attention, thinking and repeated trials that go into this rather complex assembly of a custom fitted component.

I have bought items from Rick and Muz and they were other enthusiasts who really did the homework.

Thanks a ton. Gene

I really appreciate that.

I came up with a couple of ideas today. Awhile ago i came up with a DIY for a MY00 and MY01 vinyl console cover:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...&f=22&t=727755

Drawing out the pattern is actually a HUGE pain, and it's really easy to waste vinyl with mistakes. The tolerances around the Ebrake are slim, and it's easy to remove too much vinyl. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing a pre-cut version and avoid the hassle of buying the right vinyl, measuring out the pattern correctly, and cutting it out w/o making a mistake. It would be a really cheap and easy way to hide that awful carpet console. The cover just tucks into the sides of the console and you're done!

I'm unsure about the next idea. Custom headrest wind deflectors, say... a really thin plastic sheet with printed vinyl applied to each side. It could be done to match the interior color or printed on metallic vinyl to leave a metallic honda H or S etc. I can't decide whether it infringes on Rick's deflector, and i'm also thinking it borders closely on "rice."

Any thoughts?

******I am not taking orders until I receive all of the materials I'm waiting for (ordered on Monday, should be here today or Monday). I am just getting this thread finished while I wait.******

I became a sponsor and started organizing my little venture: Finer Liners. I'm producing 2 models: the ConCeiling (large liner) and the Sleek Ceiling (small liner). All of the names are corny, but they made me laugh. I wanted to name one "The Happy Feeling Ceiling," but i guess that's unprofessional...

Here is the thread that i have started for Finer Liners. It is complete with descriptions and pricing.

Thank You!

I'm accepting orders for VINYL liners now!!!

The "Finer Liners" thread is here:

I'm not taking orders for canvas liners yet. They aren't quite ready. The fitment is good, but they are not staying in place. The problem is simple. I have 2 solutions drying at the moment. I'll be testing them this evening.

As a MY01 owner, I used to look at a hideous carpet center console. I got tired of it fast, so I came up with a simple vinyl cover. I created a Center Console Cover DIY for everyone, but measuring out the pattern is a royal pain. I'm going to start producing them for anyone who wants to save themselves the trouble of making their own. I can have them embroidered if anyone wants to add a little more flare to their interior.
