this is why supercars generally don't have ac

I use A/C in my car maybe 2 times a year. I have a high tolerance for heat and humidity growing up in Houston, TX. Unless it's over 95 with high humidity my windows or top are down, A/C off.

When crusing down a hill with your AC on and no throttle, I heard you're getting "free AC" ?

True?

It turns into a 1996 Civic DX with the AC on.

Even though I notice the power drag while A/c is on it think it is minimal. I had a 1990 miata, that had A/C, that was power loss up the wazooo!

Under full throttle the A/c turns off a bit and the car just goes...truely any 4 cyl engine with a/c has this issue, which in my opinion is so well engineered in the S that I don't notice it as an issue.

lol....the first time I turned on the AC on my Miata, I thought the car was going to explode! It literally shakes and bog like nothing else. I turned it off right away and removed the AC system shortly after!

Whenever I have the AC on (which is 99% of the time) the engine vibrates like it's going to stall and goes away when I turn it off.

I rarely drive without the AC so I don't really noticed the power loss.

My little 1.5 liter CRX HF that made all of 66 HP. It was fun to accelerate with A/C on and then turn it off to feel the power boost...almost like a VTEC surge!
LOL

I used to do the same thing with my 89 HF!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more. And given how much I need to use the AC here in NC it'll probably be one of the reasons I don't hold onto this car more than a few years. Nothing like flooring it in 1st gear from a rolling 5mph start and having "nothing" happen
